Intersections Project Call
We are bringing together a newly formed multidisciplinary research team to address some of the big questions being asked in the world of research today! Researchers of all kinds, (such as Neuroscientists, Geologists, Choreographers, Linguist, Philosophers…) are invited to apply between 16th April and 12th May 2024 (by 12 noon) by completing this form.
Who What When Where
Who: Three research practitioners from different subject areas such as Dance, Neuroscience, and Film who haven’t worked together before and would not be likely to meet otherwise (graduates or professionals only) What: A 3-day collaborative research project from conception to presentation. When: Rambert Summer Sessions 2024, Friday 12th - Sunday 14th July Where: Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance
How
The newly formed research team will have 3 days to generate a research project based on an agreed theme or question responding to the call. Over the first 2 days the team will be invited to explore, take risks, and interrogate to produce a form creation to be shared with a live audience on the third day. Provided by Rambert School, the team will have access to dance studio space, technical and IT support, relevant material resources, and additional dancers from the undergraduate cohorts (max three per project). Format inspired by Dansathon.
Rambert School Summer Sessions
Driven by a passion for knowledge exchange and championing dance scholarship as a key player in the wider academic world, Rambert School Summer Sessions is a touring dance conference model that creates spaces of connection, innovation, and collaboration. In its inaugural 2023 edition based at St Hilda’s College (University of Oxford) world leading dance artists, scholars, and students came together for a creative weekend of workshops, talks, lecture demonstrations and provocations focusing on connection, innovation and inclusive practices within dance making, teaching and performance. The RSSS'24 Schedule of curated events will be published shortly to include workshops, lectures, panels and performances (including the sharing of the selected research team's project outcome.
